The Niad philosophy:
Clients first, Underdogs second,
Self last.
While I have always stuck by this
philosophy; be it at Niad Management, at ICM, or anywhere else
in my life; time and money have become precious resources since
the writer's strike and the fears of an impending actors' strike
have taken hold.
In order to continue doing business
in the manner in which you and we are accustomed, that is being
open to accepting unsolicited query letters and submissions
in the hopes of finding those rare gems out there, we needed
to come up with a way that would make it financially viable
for us to do so. So while we can no longer accept unsolicited
query letters or screenplays unless they go through our new
consulting program as outlined below, we would still like, very
much, to help the underdog and hope you allow us to do so without
taking offense to the necessary changes to our program.
We believe these changes to be
in everyone's best interest for the following reasons.
1. Only those truly interested
and motivated will now submit, thereby weeding out the weakest
ones and cutting down our work load.
2. You will now have our undivided
attention for every submission. There will be no passing after
10, 20 or 30 pages. The entire script must be read.
3. You won't receive a mere rejection
form letter. It will be a personalized service with individualized
attention and an opportunity to speak with us personally.
